Watch this film if you want to see how someone can take the acting talent of Bullock and McCarthy, and the theme of a Cop Buddy film, and make a complete dog of a film.

This is part of the "cussing is acting" genre, or is it the "cussing is a talent" genre? Brilliantly timed comedy, and (other than the cussing) excellent acting. The "flashback/homage" to _Miss Congeniality_ would be worth the price of admission(but so is the refrigerator scene)! Nice to have a buddy movie about women.

I found it warm and hilarious, all the funnier for my not being in a laughing mood when I first watched it. It's a feel-good movie that I now play over and over in the background when I'm busy at home.

F u n n y, Great film, it is strong on language but so is the bus in Ottawa. Nice to see women in non typical roles. All types of women are included in this film. still laughing at some of the gags

This movie should have been better than it was but the script didn't support whatever the actors could bring to the screen. Melissa McCarthy's character as a foul mouth street cop, more bully than protector, was particularly badly written. For example, one unnecessary scene at the end of the film when a nurse says that cell phones aren't permitted to be used in the area, McCarthy draws her gun and points it at the nurse and says some startling stupid lines. On the whole, the story would have been better if it wasn't a buddy film and the story had centred on either character. As has been stated in other comments, it should it have been funnier, it wasn't.

I was looking forward to a funny movie, but instead got a tidal wave of over-the-top swearing that detracted from any potential humour. This an incredibly bad film. What a waste of talent in Bullock. Give it a miss, is my advice. I turned it off after 45 minutes.
