You Can Date Boys When You're Forty
"In uproarious, brand-new pieces, Barry tackles everything from family trips, bat mitzvah parties and dating (he's serious about that title: "When my daughter can legally commence dating--February 24, 2040--I intend to monitor her closely, even if I am deceased") to funeral instructions ("I would like my eulogy to be given by William Shatner"), the differences between male and female friendships, the deeper meaning of Fifty Shades of Grey, and a father's ultimate sacrifice: accompanying his daughter to a Justin Bieber concert ("It turns out that the noise teenaged girls make to express happiness is the same noise they would make if their feet were being gnawed off by badgers")"--

In this hilarious book of short articles Dave Barry has talked about parenting, families, and just about anything - OK anything you can find on Wikipedia!and everything you can't! He is able to pinpoint the one aspect of any situation that tickles the funny bone and expand on it. Soon he had me in stitches. I was gasping for breath when he talked about his trip where they are in the middle of nowhere and instead of enjoying the stunning sights every tourist is relieved that there is Wifi. Every reader will love the book and every writer will wish he/she had written it!

Dave Barry is not always politically correct, but he does make me laugh out loud, frequently and uncontrollably, while I lie in bed reading at 2 a.m. When they hear me, the neighbours who share a wall of my semi-detached must wonder whether I keep a jackal in the house. To me, this is the sign of a great comedian.

This book is closer to Barry's column work than his fictional novels. As a fan of both, it was a treat to read his latest offering. Hands down the funniest book he's written since qualifying for Social Security

Thank goodness I borrowed, rather than bought, this book. A few laughs, but too much unnecessary "filler".i typically cant wait for another book from him, but this was a disappointment overall.
