In these "mock" film genres you need to throw away disbelief and more or less ignore the plot if you are to enjoy what is on the screen. If you can accept that the fun of the film is in dialogue and the actors interaction then you will have moments of enjoyment, otherwise it wouldn't be worthwhile to watch this film. Overall, it's light entertainment. Red 2, like many sequels, isn't as good as the original Red 1.

Follow-up to the first film about retired (and not so retired) operatives has our heroes on the run from more than one adversary and trying to find the reason why. Anthony Hopkins seems to be having fun playing a mentally addled intelligence figure.

Sequels rarely deliver what the prequels achieve, and this is no different.

However, it is not bad at all. I think that we hold movies to a higher standard than the common dreck we are offered on Network television. More fool us.

The first Red was really sharp, and the sequel was not as clever, but certainly not dull.

Imagine how difficult it is to pique the interest of fickle viewers such as ourselves. How many TV series have accomplished years of fan devotion...such as X-files, the Simpsons, Breaking Bad, Lost, and Seinfeld?????

Part of the pleasure of movie viewing is giving a film the chance to either entertain us, or really move us. Film vs. movies. True creativity is ever so rare, and we need to be realistic in our expectations. IMO...if your expectations are high, you will be disappointed. Do not depend on others reviews. We are all quite different! But when you find a gem/garbage...or even a movie/film to defend or attack...express your opinion. Engage!

In spite of what people were saying about it I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this movie.

Not quite as good as the first. Entertaining but a bit disappointing.
