"When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a deadly war began. To combat them, humans devised massive robots called Jaegers as weapons. Controlled simultaneously by two pilots, even the Jaegers proved nearly defenseless against the Kaiju. Now on the verge of defeat, mankind must turn to a washed-up former pilot and an untested trainee in a seemingly obsolete Jaeger. These unlikely heroes are the last hope against a mounting apocalypse."

I enjoyed this one. Among the Actors in this Movie for Fans of "Beauty and the Beast" "Ron Perlman"(who played the "Beast")has an interesting role in this movie. Although His role is a minor one. He adds a funny moment to the end of this movie.

Giant robots battle giant monsters in a movie that plays mostly on the spectacle than the plot. Emphasis is towards the effects, which there are many. Mostly for those who love action in their movies.

In Pacific Rim the premise is that giant robots are fighting giant monsters that are invading Earth through a portal in the Pacific Ocean. The movie is mostly fighting and trying to save the world with a little love story as well. The story was very easy to follow along to understand the basic premise of the story. Although there were a lot of plot holes in the movie that made me have a lot of unanswered questions at the end of the film. The visuals in this movie are very outstanding. The computer generated imagery was beautiful. You can tell a lot of money and time was spent perfecting the computer generated imagery. This made all the fights exciting to watch and very visually appealing. The fights themselves were very entertaining. Sometimes the fights would destroy entire cities. The monsters sometimes seemed weak and that they could have nuked the monster in the first place when in came into Earth through the Ocean. The action in the movie overall was outstanding and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more. Despite some of the plot holes, I found the movie to be a great movie I would watch once and never watch again. This movie is perfect for everyone. Kids will love it because of the mindless fighting and visually appealing battles. I give Pacific Rim a 7/10, a great movie to watch and no need to concentrate on the story but just watch the beautiful battles it has to offer.

It is good the first time you wach it.. but if you watch it again, it gets really boring.

"The Apocalypse is cancelled" screams Idris Elba. Men with machines can overturn Gods will. It is entertaining enough.

The only good thing about this movie was Charlie Hunnam.

This is a movie that will leave you with questions, including: why don't they just use nuclear warheads on the kaiju? Why is only one person interested in where they come from, and why they're here? Why robots, for heaven's sake? And then, if you have a sense of humour, you will realize: I am watching a monsters versus giant robots movie. If you want these two things in a single film, logical compromises have to be made. The action doesn't leave much time for characterization, but what there is seems to be a salute to monster films of the past. The film's vision is compelling enough to make one believe that if we ever DO have to construct giant, ass-kicking robots, we are half way to their realization. Be assured, this is a dumb movie made by very smart people.

not very good, boring story

Epicness, epic, with a hint of awesome.
This film is so epic you will watch it saying "epic" your eyes will send messages to your brain that say epicness to the max. Ever seen anything more epic? Well it better be this, because this is epicness to the max. Imagine some one taking all the Pacific Rim in the world and melting it down to awesome, and then turn it in to a cup or Goblet for epicness, you then pour the liquid awesomeness and epicness and make it in to a magnificent cup, you then pour every epic made while this cup was created, you then pour it in to this cup and give it to Del Toro, and you get this epicness of a movie. This movie will want you to have more epicness in your life, and this epic of a movie will help you take care of 99.9999 % of that need for awsomeness. 'Nuff said.

Dr. Newton Geiszler: Fortune favors the brave, dude.

Stacker Pentecost: Today. Today... At the edge of our hope, at the end of our time, we have chosen not only to believe in ourselves, but in each other. Today there is not a man nor woman in here that shall stand alone. Not today. Today we face the monsters that are at our door and bring the fight to them. Today, we are cancelling the apocalypse!

Raleigh Becket: This is worth fighting for. We don't have to just obey him.

Mako Mori: It's not obedience, Mr. Beckett; it's respect.
