I loved this book, so it was somewhat predictable the story between the two couples were enjoyable and the ending was amazing. I understood.

This was well written but it did not hold my interest enough for me to finish the book. This is probably less a reflection on the author's skill than of the fact that I don't often like straight romances.

As always, another good read by Nicholas Sparks.

it was abit winded and perdictable however an amazing ending

Great characters in the midst of life changes, adjusting as they can with hope for the future.

" I wish I had the talent to paint the way I feel about you, for my words always feel inadequate. I imagine using red for your passion and pale blue for your kindness; forest green to reflect the depth of your empathy and bright yellow for your unflagging optimism. And still I wonder: can even an artist's palette capture the full range of what you mean to me ? " - This is a passage from a letter Ira wrote to his wife Ruth on their 16th anniversary. I thought this quote from "The Longest Ride" captured Ira's love for his wife and also their love of art, which plays a role in this dual generational love story between Ira/Ruth and Sophia/Luke.

I agree with the person who said this book belongs in the Harlequin Romance category.

I am a Sparks fan (and a male might I add). I've read all his books. But I almost gave up on this one. Its a bit lengthy but I must admit, it kept me engaged. I wanted to know what happened, and I'm glad I read it all the way through! The ending wowed me!
