I would have rated this movie higher if it had not been so confusing. A very convoluted plot. It could have been so much better.

This Movie is based on a Graphic novel. It is a lot better than it's trailer can suggest.

As "foou" brought out this is just like movie Moon. They just throw in some ladies for friction and romance. Beautifully shot, however its incredibly slow paced. If you're good with a movie taking an hour to get to the good part, then you'll enjoy.

Without a doubt, the cinematography is impressive. However, the desolation created here makes the movie drag a bit. It is not until the second half, when new characters are finally introduced, that “Oblivion” moves along at a better pace.

This is a 2013 SF film based on Joseph Kosinski's unpublished graphic novel of the same name.
Its visual effects are superb, but the story seems immature and underdeveloped.
This DVD contains three short documentaries ("Destiny", "Illusion", and "Harmony") that show how this movie was made.
These documentaries look much better than the feature.
I'm quite impressed.

So sad when "stars" like Cruise continue to take on roles that are meant for someone 30 years their junior.

The special effects are great in this movie. The set design and the efforts that they went to to create a sense of realism is commendable. Traveling to various global sites to get original shots does add to the overall feeling. If you watch the extras on the dvd you will appreciate the lengths they went to to create this film. I did find the plot a little thin aside from the one twist. This is not really a feel good movie. When it is over you are kind of glad. Tom does a fine job with all action sequences. Give it two stars.
