Not a bad read, though I find hard to care for its characters. The characters are mostly nondescript and even Vaelin( the main character) was in a way like a robot. The book was great at the beginning, but the quality seemed to take a sharp U turn 3/4 the way through. Game of Thrones people will probably like it, but Name of The Wind fellas? No, not really.

I really loved this story. Coming of age tales don't often appeal to me like this one did. They are usually just a means to an end, a little background before getting to the good stuff. But this one had me fascinated right from the start. I found myself invested in the characters and storyline with the world and magic system being a mystery that I hope to see more of in the next books.

This was a pretty good book. It had pretty good descriptions of the Middle Ages and how people lived at that time.
