This was one of the dumbest movies I've ever seen. It could have been indie, if the acting was better. The visual of James Franco with cornrows and a grill was initially funny and all of his "y'all-in". But the female cast was unseasoned. Some scenes appeared to be improvised . . . like when James talks about the tanning lotion and tanning up. The scene where he sucks the handgun was kind of freaky. Overall, just plain stupid.

a very harsh movie to watch.

An exhilarating fever dream of gorgeous photography and frantic music and editing mixed in with lots 'o shots of tits and ass. What can be bad about that? But, is this the metaphor: Young kids, taking a break from dull lives at home or tough grinds at school, cut loose and have "girls gone wild" sex in Florida? This could be made at Mardi Gras in New Orleans or Carnival in Rio. And is that a scathing analysis of how girls become lunatic, machine-gun-wielding-drug-gang-murderers? Me no quite buy it, although the Taliban probably would agree, since thats why they keep the girls locked up. And I never bought the angle that these girls could be seduced this easily into anything but getting laid, but without that gangsta and his shit, all youve really got is just another beach-blanket-bingo flick. Of course, I watched the "making of" extras, and the director did not want to be specific about what they were getting at because it was more like a provocative hallucination, and some will be provoked. Our culture may be twisted, but it aint because girls are getting laid.

I thought it was good and very funny.. some of the stuff these girl did ..was weird..

I was actually offended by this movie. It should be x-rated due to the t&a, drugs and sex. Why is it in circulation? Can we give 'minus' stars?

I've seen every single star of this movie in better movies than this poorly written concept of a story.., and can recommend may. James Franco, look at 127 Hours. Selena Gomez, watch Getaway. Vanessa Hudgens, hello, High School Musical 1 thru 3. Watch anything but this movie Spring Breakers. Even watching the laundry turn in the drier is better.

This movie chronicles the spring break of four college girls. It is fast paced with a collage of wild beach parties. When the girls get arrested they are bailed out of jail by the rapper and gangster Alien (James Franco). Two of the girls decide to return to school while the other two take to the gangster lifestyle.

Where to start on this one... I mean, it's bad. Let's get that out of the way.... but laughably bad. Bad in a way where you can't help but watch. Bad on a "Showgirls" level. Franco has to be given some credit for his acting, he was (surprisingly) totally convincing as a dealer/rapper/scumbag. In fact you can almost (almost!) buy the story most of the way through... but then the end is so laugh-out-loud absurd that you have to wonder if the filmmakers are in on the joke or not.

Ummm. Hmmm. Really what can one say? I am sure, that in hindsight, this will be believed to be a very important film. (I’m only half-kidding here). In a way, this turns out to be a tribute to all those awful “juvenile delinquent” movies we boomers grew up with. However, the completely over-the-top nihilism on view in “Spring Breakers” is something new. Unfortunately, it’s also like a 90 minute version of “Girls Gone Wild”, albeit with a nominal plotline and a lot more style. I couldn’t make it past the 30 minute mark, and that was a stretch. The style is operatic, but the movie itself is static. The only things that really move are the restless camera and the ENDLESS jiggling boobies. That some of them don’t ACTUALLY jiggle is the first clue as to the real “decadence” of this movie. It’s the fact that Korine could so easily get these nominal “actresses” and extras to display their bazooms, and tongue and dry hump each other for what couldn’t possibly have been much of a paycheck. This picture may well end up being a classic….my guess is that it will end up in a huge amount of film studies classes, not to mention late night university showings. But it really is a terrible bore.

great girl power movie because these girls are every day girls gone wild. Not every one has the emotional depths of a davis or a streep, so that being said, its a girls point of view fantasy driven movie about what girls do, want and are capable of doing with a guy wanting "the four girls plus one guy hook-up". Girls are more sinister than guys and the ending demonstrates that. its not a "talkie" or "everything is explained" to you, its like a song made into a movie. If you looking for an beginning-middle-end , it not here in a classical way. But if you groove with it for a ride, you'll get it.
