This was kind of a fun movie, probably not too accurate, but I liked it anyway.

Solid acting by Hopkins/Mirren mostly wasted by the director who previously has done comedy (The Terminal). Who knows what the written script started out as? The main way this was ill-used was having it be too light. Maybe dir Sacha Gervasi was ‘trying’ for Hitch’s unique mix of dark and light; possibly Ivan Reitman’s producing lightened it. Anyway, it was stillborn all across. Still very watchable, but a waste. The book could be juicy... -— Most important idea here is that Hitch’s wife, Alma had what looked like at least an equal part in the quality of “Psycho” and maybe all the rest; the usual story.

Love this movie. No action, no special effects, but just plain old-fashion good story telling. When i watched the movie, I saw Hitchcock, not Hopkins. Mirren was her usual superb self. Coudn't tell Biel was Miles. For the adrenaline junkie, this might be boring, but for those who appreciate a compelling story, this is a fun movie.

Great acting all around but especially by Mirren. Being the backstory of the making of Psycho, the film was interesting. And the period look was pretty good. Solid entertainment.

Fascinating story about the character of Hitchcock himself, and about marriage in general. Well-done and beautifully made. Enjoy.

Entertaining fictional portrayal of the making of "Psycho." I wish the DVD had some extras like an interview with the director and cast, which would have added more insight to the production.

this movie humorously tells a backstory of the filming of "Psycho". One of the great lines from film history ... studio executive says "thank God we have Cinderfella for the holidays!" The story of the movie is told against the backdrop of Hitch's relationship with his wife and collaborator, Alma. Their part of the story is cleverly told using some of Hitchcock's film techniques. It is difficult to play such an iconic figure as Alfred Hitchcock without drawing criticisms.

This film starts semi entertainingly but evolves into a cliche ridden romantic comedy. The cast is great and the story is interesting but the script and the direction are sub par. Surely Hitchcock's life was darker than this?

A bit slow, but interesting. A nice little, subtle intrigue in the last 15 seconds of the movie.

(At the Motion Picture Production Code censors' meeting) Geoffrey Shurlock: "The Code will absolutely *not* permit you, to show a knife... penetrating a woman's flesh!" Alfred Hitchcock: "I assure you, Geoffrey -- my murders are always models of taste, and discretion." Geoffrey Shurlock: "Is there any improper suggestion of nudity in this, uh, murder scene in the shower?" Alfred Hitchcock: "She won't be nude. She'll be wearing a shower cap."
