Better than I expected. I like Colin Farrell - here he has a great screen presence and exudes some humanity and emotion. Lots of blood and gore but a really quirky love story too which is its major appeal. Some clever touches and dialogue too.

Above average crime drama. Well acted. Storyline has a couple twists to it. Violent. Something just didn't raise the level of this movie to particularly good. Seemed slow or overlong at times.

I really enjoyed this. A slow burning revenge flick with a distinct European flavor that relied on character development and the building tension that defined them. The leads are spot-on in their respective roles. Colin Farrell excels as the solemn tightly-wound wronged man; Noomi Rapace as his neighbor, interested in him for more than just his eyebrows; and Terrence Howard as the laid-back sleazebag crime boss. Danish director Niels Arden Oplev ("The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo") crafted a fine piece here with a satisfying climax. Underrated.

Well-paced entertaining movie. Very hard to describe, and the current description of it is just off base. It's more like a love story snuck into a revenge action thriller, and even that is off. Nevertheless, highly recommended for a watch. Noomi Rapace's acting is quite good and made several scenes believable and convincing that would have sunk the movie with any lesser actress.

If there is such a thing, an action romantic thriller of revenge . The description that " ... a crime lord's right hand man is seduced by one of his boss's victims ..." is not how I saw it. It is more like a gangster, who lost his family to crime, met and fell for a woman who asked him to murder the man who disfigured her face from a car accident.

A little above average. Not a bad movie but a little difficult to follow at the beginning.

Darcy (to Victor, of his newborn son): "...Wasn't meant to be this way, you know? We make our plans, sure. But life... life is what happens to you along the way. ...You know -- first I didn't want this... I didn't want to connect; I didn't want to get involved... But she kept on with me, you know? This is what life is; this is why we're here, to connect, to... to build... We're here to build something. ...And then we had Theo. And then I understood that, you know, she was right. We're not meant to be alone. You know what she said to me? She said that even the most damaged heart... can be mended. Even the most damaged heart."
