I was pleasantly surprised by “Side Effects”; it is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. It has enough intrigue to keep you guessing until the very end.

Really good movie. Glad I had to watch the whole movie before I could figure out what was happening.

I guess I am somewhat stunned as I wasn't quite sure what happened in the end? Good movie and I agree about Catherine Zita-Jones. I quite liked Jude Law.

Surprisingly good with a superb performance by Jude Law but wooden perfomance by Catherine Zeta-Jones. Well-written with great plot twists, held my interest from start to finish.

Feb 21, 2014....well, I just watched this, and a thriller it may be, but definitely not an action thriller. I felt a little sleepy at the beginning. It did pick up, and I liked the ending. I watched the whole thing in French, with English subtitles, not realizing it was an English movie. I had it mixed up with another movie in my line up, and the last person to watch this must have had the french version on. Silly me! I hope I learned a bit of French along the way to make it worthwhile! C'est bonne!?......I just read the other comments, and I also was fooled by the preview. It is not a movie about scary drug side effects at all. I was wondering why I had ordered this, and now I know why, I was duped! Would I recommend it to my friends.....probably not.

Just the kind of mystery I enjoy. Lots of twists and turns. Very smart and a great deal of reality regarding drug trials and medical industry. Didn't realize this actress also played Lisbeth in Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

really strange. still not sure who was the bad person or who got conned. held my interest. not for kids.

Side Effects is an entertaining movie.
Lots of tension and unrelentingly thrilling and anyone who found it slow has to be mighty 'slow' themselves.
A person can never regard psychology/psychiatry in the sqaame light again after seeing this drama.
MPG.

This is one of those movies where it is best not to know anything about the movie before watching. Then you can ask yourself, is this a psychiatrist and patient movie, an anti-drug movie, an anti-shock therapy movie, a simple killing movie, a murder movie, a murder conspiracy movie, a clear the innocent movie, or what? In the psychiatric and patient possibility, I thought that Jude Law was excellent as the psychiatrist saying as little as possible to the patient as he tries to get the patient to dig down into her emotional feelings of depression. In the innocent person portion, he was great as the man against the conviction machine. This has some similarities to “American Gigolo” where the film goes from being a high end “male escort” movie to a murder conspiracy movie.
