Story line is poor, not worth the time.

Despite the star power, this one is loaded w/ a bad script, poor direction, and confusing action choreography. Feels more like a made for TV movie, and definitely not as classic as the original. I know things are bad from the get go, when I just can't get myself to suspend my belief enough to believe that the invaders are North Korea. Come on...they can't even feed themselves, much less mobilize enough forces to come across the ocean and invade the USA in a surprise attack via a new class of pulse technology weapon.

Slightly above average war/action movie.Remake of the 1984 flick of the same name. Left me wanting for the original. Inferior storyline. Superior effects/stunts. Could have been much better.

I recently watched the original Red Dawn—far, far superior, makes more sense than this one. I’m not a fan of Swayze, but enjoyed the older version much better. This is a very sanitized, more politically correct version of the older movie. This was a good enough movie and I didn't see anything patriotic—unless you consider one American flag that showed at the very end and discreetly... So, no USA, USA, USA—although patriotism is something very healthy. :-) Watch this first than compare with the older. (And, hey, God bless America!)

Didn't care for the original and the remake is only a little better. USA. USA. USA.. God bless America and all that. I think the Big Bad Villains were North Korean's with a couple of Russian throw in, like that matters at all. The part with the kid with a homing beacon stuck in him toward the end was just brilliant writing.

Overall this movie is not bad, not great either but I think it was still good. Comparing it to the original, I think it holds it's own.

Proves once again that some movies should never be remade. If you haven't seen the original Red Dawn it's worth watching and pass on this one - it really isn't worth waiting for.

Not bad. Not believable but quite entertaining.
