New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum knows better than to mess with family. But when powerful mobster Salvatore "Uncle Sunny" Sunucchi goes on the lam in Trenton, it's up to Stephanie to find him. Uncle Sunny is charged with murder for running over a guy (twice), and nobody wants to turn him in -- not his poker buddies, not his bimbo girlfriend, not his two right-hand men, Shorty and Moe. Even Trenton's hottest cop, Joe Morelli, has skin in the game, because "just Stephanie's luck" the godfather is his actual godfather. And while Morelli understands that the law is the law, his old-world grandmother, Bella, is doing everything she can to throw Stephanie off the trail. It's not just Uncle Sunny giving Stephanie the run-around. Security specialist Ranger needs her help to solve the bizarre death of a top client's mother, a woman who happened to play bingo with Stephanie's Grandma Mazur. Before Stephanie knows it, she's working side by side with Ranger and Grandma at the senior center, trying to catch a killer on the loose -- and the bingo balls are not rolling in their favor. With bullet holes in her car, henchmen on her tail, and a giraffe named Kevin running wild in the streets of Trenton, Stephanie will have to up her game for the ultimate takedown.

Her books always make me laugh. she has more than nine lives when she escapes from one problem after another. An escaped giraffee added humor to the story too.

Sometimes, nothing is better than a “fluff read”. That said, it still needs to be interesting “fluff”. In all honesty, I’m not sure how many more Stephanie Plum books I will read. At some point, there needs to be a wee bit of character development. What used to be laugh out loud funny is now just predictable and boring. Plus I guessed who the murderer was near the beginning of the book. I hate that.

I have come to the conclusion that you can not read the Plum books all in one sequence because they all start sounding a like. However, with that being said, since I have not read a Plum book in a while, I found this book very funny. There is something marvelous about each character and I will definitely read another Plum book!

Just OK. They have stopped being hilarious and are more formulaic.

Although the Giraffe floating through the story was funny, Stephanie should be able to at least capture one of her clients... the bumbling is a bit much to take at times. Not her best, but not her worst.

Yeah, I know...there's nothing really new in Takedown Twenty, but predictability is not such a bad thing. Plum's MO is the same - bounty hunter tracking down bad guys in order to pay the rent, getting shot at, beat up, or threatened with gal pal and former ho Lulu, and she's still emotionally torn between the two super-studs in her life. But I have to say Plum's a peach if you want a fun mystery with a lot of laughs and great characters. This book adds a few new characters, as well as a giraffe, and Grandma Mazur is in fine form.
