after seeing the live television musical, we had to check out the traditional peter pan dvd! it's a classic and certainly a product of the time period. the racism is hard to explain to young kids:(. but the songs are cool and the story enchanting.

grate movie i love this movie i seen the 2009 dvd of disney's peter pan 2 disc and the new dvd of peter pan that you have from 2013 and now i have the special edition of peter pan from 2002 on vhs it says on my vhs one of disney's brightest ...A film in which everything clicks i think peter pan is the best movie ever i also got a peter pan movie from my uncle on vhs in 2005 the live acton one but's not disney but you do have this movie too it is a really good movie too,

I'd always thought that crowing was a cool part of being native ... :\

I guess I never noticed the racism before.

This movie is a classic. Period! Those of you complaining about the "racist" elements of this movie need to ease up a bit on the political correctness. You're probably the same crowd that would like to remove Huckleberry Finn from our shelves as well!

The movie is fun, a classic. But it is astonishingly racist about Indians - not merely showing the stereotypes, there's a major song-and-dance number *about* the stereotypes. "Why does the Red Man say 'How'?" "When did the Red Man first say 'Ugh'?" I'd be reluctant to show it to youngsters without some discussion of the cultural context... which wouldn't be easy with most young children.
