What MLKim said. I don't care how long their hair is, and I get tired of her substituting sex for plot. But even that's better than them endlessly congratulating themselves on how much they love each other, and how broad minded they are. And endless speeches designed to educate us poor readers about the politics and the mystical attachments.. I'm all done with Anita. If you want suberb urban fantasy, read Ilona Andrews. Kate Daniels is a hero we can all get behind and the writing is great too.

All in all, I enjoyed the story. I did find the pacing to be uneven, especially since the action would sometimes be after pages of philosophical discussion on relationships and love. Although, he's not really in this book, I don't know why Asher is coming back in the next book. He should be killed off.

This is Anita Blake- complicated people & relationships along with a fast moving "monster" plot line. Yes,some of her identifying phrases get repetitious & the cops are still giving her attitude, but they would. It is not an attitude that goes away because you are tired of it.She does have a thing about the giy's hair. Minor flaws in the midst of pages of good escapist reading!

This is how I read the Anita Blake novels - I skip the pages and pages of relationship discussions, vampire politics, repetitious sex, body descriptions (how many times does she have to describe everyone's hair style?), confrontations with chauvinistic officers, etc. - and just get to the sections that move the plot forward and the action sequences. After all, every one of the last maybe 15 books has had gone over the same old same old, so there's no reason to read much of this unless you are new to the series. This is junky stuff that I just read for entertainment, if you consider graphic violence entertainment. But it's cartoon violence, like watching a Twilight or other action/fantasy movie. If I didn't borrow them from the library I would not read them as I would not spend any money on them.

I enjoy this series a whole lot! Especially, since Ms. Hamilton toned down the sex a bit. Hard to put down her books. Now, I await the next one!

i enjoyed very much, but wish she would spend even more time on edward and anita. Hamilton has given even more possible storylines for future books. people who are fans of hamilton will either love or hate this book there is not a lot of sex in this one, but was she does present will make some people uncomfortable(very strong bdsm).would also wish she would consider a storyline using
richard, jean claude, and asher.

I loved this book. A great continuation in the Anita Blake series. There is a new twist to the zombies in this one, along with a horrible rotting disease. Edward is back, yay, and we learn a lot more about Micah's family. Definitely a re-reader.
