Weddings seem to bring out the worst in people. It's difficult to have a decent wedding when everyone invited seems to be having personal crisis right and left. Worse, so many of the couples are collapsing. Anyway, kind of funny when you think of how much money many people spend on weddings and how little worth the marriages seem to have! The wedding I n this story seems to be the wedding of the century! I hope there is a sequel!

I would consider this to be the perfect summer beach read. The setting is Nantucket Island. There is an impending wedding, with the details dictated by the diary of the bride's dead mother. Family secrets and wedding drama ensues. The story was hilarious and heartfelt. Made me want to take a trip to Nantucket.

This was my first introduction to Elin Hilderbrand and I loved it. I have since read Summerland and Matchmaker, and of the three, I definitely enjoyed Beautiful Day the best.

What is with these phrases in 2013???

"wild Indians" and "Indian Giver".

I would hope the author knows better but guess not.

Just finished reading this book and I have to say, it was not as enjoyable as her other books. I found it superficial and tedious.
