This started the trilogy off with high energy and catchy riffs. I loved this album. It had a perfect balance between carefreeness (Let Yourself Go, Troublemaker) and tender emotions (Stay The Night, Oh Love). The album kicks off with Nuclear Family, a playful three-chord song that can get anyone's foot tapping, about nothing in particular. The first song of an album is always very important, because it sets the mood and expectations for the rest of the album, and in Green Day's case, the trilogy. Nuclear Family pokes fun at America's current state without being too resentful, angry, or mocking. Kill the DJ adds a new sound that jeers at electronic music. All in all, this album does not disappoint. Old and new Green Day fans will love this, and even if you haven't heard of this band or are not familiar with them, you should give it a listen!
