Add a CommentBelieve me, director Ridley Scott really deserves to have his ass kicked, but good, for this dismal & despicable dud. _____ This piece of rubbish, whose story explains nothing, hardly has enough intelligence in it to even come close to passing itself off as a satisfying prequel/sequel to 1979's Alien._____ If, 35 years later, this was the best that Ridley Scott could come up with as a continuation of the Alien story, then, this is the sort of tale that should have just been left alone._____ The entire crew of the Prometheus looked to me like a bunch of skid-row derelicts. You could never, ever convince me that these dislikable freaks were supposed to be brilliant scientists, and the likes._____ This film was clearly nothing but a blatant cash-grab for Ridley Scott. And, of course, while Scott was greedily grabbing at all that cash (millions & millions, I'm sure) he was also pissing away in our faces & laughing behind our backs (all the way to the bank) at the same time.
This return to the "Alien" franchise from the original's director Ridley Scott was entertaining... more than I can say for some of the other atrocious attempts (Resurrection, Alien vs. Predator). The story was engaging enough; the snarky characters... meh. Charlize Theron must've gone to the Sigourney Weaver School of Masculinity. Michael Fassbender was a primped "HAL 9000", and the old man goop they plopped on Guy Pearce was laughable. I didn't realize Noomi Rapace was The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo -- she was excellent. Top shelf visuals.
Worst movie ever
A lot of yucky guts and gore. This is supposed to be a prequel to Alien. Somewhat over the top and story line disjointed. Somewhat predictable.
Prometheus ---- (DVD - 2012) Sci-Fi ---- This is a good story for those that are mature enough to view this tale. The makers of this movie used the same effects of: Background; Monster actions and similar body builds. The cast made it work to a point, the rest was just wow effects. I don't know what all of you other people think about this: I'm getting real tired of the monster inserting a long tube down the victums mouth & Neck!!!! To take control of the person. ---- I hope the movie makers will drop the Homo hints and come up with anouther way of killing or seeding people, including the home viewers!!! ---- Well everyone have a watch and see how many other movie parts are in this show. ---- Enjoy! ---- RichardPaul (finished 4-18-13) ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- MPAA rating R for violence, and intense images, and brief language.
bored me to sleep. worst film ever. worse than battlefield earth & THAT takes some beating!
I suppose if you were expecting "Blade Runner" meets "Alien vs Predator" then you'd be disappointed. What you got instead was a hi-tech study in the hubris of Man, considering himself to be #1, or even that "superior beings" were all-knowing and beneficial. That, and the on-ship cyborg doing his "Laurence of Arabia" bit was worth the price of the ticket alone!
Predictable and boring... Really no story whatsoever that made any internal sense... I just wanted everyone to hurry up and die so I could return the movie...
Too many people simply don't get it! However, it has taken me a number of viewings to see all of the implications. The monsters in Prometheus are clearly precursors (early prototypes) for the later Alien creatures. Also evident is the entrenchment of the corporate mindset, reducing humanity to a commodity. Perhaps most interesting, is whether or not the robot, David, does indeed have a soul.
So why was'nt this movie called the "Birth of Alien" sorry Ridley not original or interesting.
