This is a waste of time waiting for the plot. The producers must have thought that overdoing special effects would make up for a bad script and acting. The only reason I wasted 2hrs of my time is that I thought that "some" of the cast could carry this movie. Didn't happen. I should have given the reviews more credibility.

Young person, until you actually have a command of your own native tongue, you shouldn't publish anything that you write; as you come off, as what Bugs Bunny and I would call a "Maroon". I'm trying to help you here youngster; digital is forever. And trust me, you'll look back of this "post" in the years ahead with great embarrassment and remorse.

I heard that this is suppose to be the so-called ''prequel'' to the first ''Alien'' movie directed by Ridley Scott also.I can't really tell, because unlike the first ''Alien'' movie, this is not scary, nor suspenseful at all period. This movie reminds of why i don't pay for movie tickets no more at all for exactly 10 years now in 2014 and counting period. This is 2 hours and 4 minutes of precious time i wasted that i regretfully will never get back at all period. The way this crap ended,i can clearly see them making a sequel to this.DO NOT MAKE A SEQUEL TO THIS HOLLYWOOD AT ALL PERIOD,BUT YOU DON'T HEAR ME THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This flic appears to have been conceived and fashioned by aliens from a two-dimensional universe posing as human film-makers. The actors are great and do their jobs well, but the whole thing has the feel of a film that was destined to be great, but then the director died and they cobbled together the remains and released it anyhow. Of course Ridley Scott is alive and kicking and allegedly human, so why has someone with such experience crapped the bed like this? The flic has great special-effects, but in this advanced digital age, this is not enough to make up for weakness any more. There was some good horror tension and the implications were intriguing, but I truly expected a bit more. The horror & sci-fi genres have been traditionally been disrespected and under-budgeted, so why expect more? Because, as they say - ''the times are a changing'', (thank you, Guillermo del Toro). Not completely without entertainment value however; like a punch to the face on a really, really boring afternoon. Could have been a contender.

Should be retitled "Epimetheus". A bloated version of Ridley Scott's own Alien, Prometheus is one of those films that rely on everyone behaving as stupidly as possible to move the plot forward. The script, apparently inspired by the New Age classic Chariots of the Gods?, had multiple authors, including one of the creators of Lost. Enough said. Fassbender's character, the android David, is like a refugee from a much better film. But the film looks wonderful. How unimaginative of us to want more.

I enjoy SciFi, and I was a big fan of the first couple of Alien films. However, copying and pasting swathes of imagery and concepts from the first alien film (including some Giger) did not make Promtheus any less awful. No decision made by any character made any sense. They were unconvincing and shallow, and looking forward to their gruesome demise was the only redeeming aspect of this film. Expensive CGI is not enough. May the sequel perish at the hands of acountants before it sees the light of day.

Ok. The secret to enjoying this movie is you absolutely must love the Alien series. If you only watched it in passing or didn't like it, do waste your time on this. You will hate it. (I really enjoyed the series, so i liked it.)

At least it made me hope for a sequel to this prequel: what will happen next? Also I'm glad the crew got what they deserved. A bunch of nitwits.

I assume this was an introduction to the next movie that'll explain more of how we got to the Alien series. Great acting but... something was missing. A bit disappointed with the action.

What a disappointment! Had such high hopes for this movie. From a sci-fi point, pure garbage. Great acting, great cast, great story but awful execution...Let's take off our helmets on a strange planet and breath the air! Let's put our finger in strange black liquid! Check your brain in at the door with this one because otherwise it will insult your intelligence every 5 minutes.
