This was an amazing book - pretty well the best of her works. Suspense, adventure and intrigue as the plot unfolds.

Story about a family including father, mother and daughter who are kidnapped for ransom. The story is told through the eyes of the mother; and she describes issues of infidelity, her misunderstood daughter and her own addiction. Somehow, someone embezzeled millions from the company is tied to kidnapping? Readable but didn't like the ending.

Here is something I learned when I was eleven years old: Pain has a flavor. The question is, what does it taste like to you? Tonight, my pain tasted like oranges." From the opening sentences to the very end, this book really held my interest. The plot was excellent, the characters interesting, and best of all, I had no idea "who done it" until the very end. Lisa Gardner is one of my favorite authors and this book definitely did not disappoint!

One of the best books I've read in awhile...and I read a lot of books! Gardner knows exactly how much suspense to put in a book, where it should go, and then delivers spectacularly! So many twists and turns that it definitely keeps you on your toes. Plus returning characters for you to love all over again. I can't wait to see who's the focus of her next book. I hope to see more of Tessa, Sophie, and Wyatt. :)

The Denbe's are kidnapped by obvious professionals who don't demand a ransom right away. Investigators are perplexed, trying to figure out why they were kidnapped and who in the company could possibly have the motive?
