Crime story about the efforts of "Private Berlin" - an investigation agency- and the German Police to track down a serial killer who may be involved with the murder of people who previously presided in a torture camp and then an Orphanage. The story takes place 20 yrs after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the atrocites the GDR ( the ruling party) committed then. Easy flowing written stories; not very hard to follow. Passable.

Garbage!

This was the best of the four Private books. I'm sorry I can't agree that the story was slow paced. It was a real page turner with well developed charters and kept me guessing until the end.

In the past decade, Schneider had come to believe it might never happen, that his past had not only disappeared, it had died, and with it the chance to exact true payback for himself and the others.

He hesitated, staring at the silhouette of the building, recalling some of the horror that he’d felt coming here for the first time, and realizing that he’d been waiting almost three decades for this moment.
