Add a CommentI enjoyed the book and plan to read the rest of the series to see what happens. I will say that I was quite surprised at how many similarities there were to 50 Shades. How did the author get away with this? For those of you that enjoyed 50 Shades, I think you'll love this series as well. Cheers.
This book is sooo similar to Fifty Shades of Grey & yet I would not reccommend it (as I would FSOG). Yes, it had a lot of steamy parts but I found the whole book boring. I don't think I will read Reflected in You, even though I already took it out.
I found Bared to You to have more complex character development and better writing than many adult romance books out there. I recommend this title in particular for women who want adult romance but feel uncomfortable with the heavier elements of BDSM.
This book was not as good as Fifty Shades. I feel that the characters were copied from Fifty with just a little change of Eva's character verses Ana. I was very bored reading this and it took along time to get through it. When I thought it was getting good, it just went on and on into more boredom. I thought maybe they would have an interesting ending to this book so I would want to read the other, but it didn't even do that. I have no desire to read this series. Fifty Shades was much better.
I truly enjoyed this novel. This was a hot and erotic read from beginning to end. I loved the descriptions of the city. I laughed when I read the part about the trains rumbling beneath our feet. I saw the city through new eyes.
I heard this was better than Fifty Shades. I find it hard to imagine a book that isn't. Yet it failed to deliver. I didn't even make it to the sex scenes - the terrifying behavior of the male lead was enough to clench my thighs together. Stalking is never sexy, ladies! Do yourself a favor and read Story of O: classic, well-written, and filled with hot, hot consent!
I thought this was a great book with well developed characters. I can't wait to read book number 2.
Much Much better the FsoG. I too agree with Sarah1984. Just an all around more grown up version with better sexy scenes. The only thing I did not like was the language. I don't use or respect the C word so other then that I liked it. 18+ read for sure.
This book is definitely better-written and more believable than "Fifty Shades." However, "Fifty Shades" is erotica; this book is porn. Which is fine-- I don't have a problem with people reading porn. But I don't like to read it. I only got through a couple of the sex scenes in this book before I stopped reading.
My review is the same as Sarah1984 below. The best difference between the two is that the sex is actually hot in bared to you. Bared to you is a more grown up version. I love how gideon says her name like its sacred..Eva, it reminds me of the movie Wally from pixar. Wallys whole focus is Eva and he says it with such love and awe. My favorite part in this book however is the fortune cookie scene...I laughed my but off.
