For all of the history buffs and civil war enthusiasts, this was a fascinating read, written as if you were there. Certainly some liberties are taken by the authors, like telling us what Lincoln was thinking at certain times, but it adds to the intrigue of the story, conjecture and history all in one book.

I quit this in disgust after one disc due to O'Reilly's wretched narration. There are two main problems. First, it is written and read in the style of a "thriller" as O'Reilly warns in the prologue. That's okay, as I can accept that history should be made interesting, but it tends to undercut faith in the rigor and accuracy of the facts. Worse is the fact that O'Reilly is an idiot. He constantly says Calvary when he means cavalry. It isn't one or two mispronunciations, it is so frequent it is indicative that he simply doesn't know the difference between the two. This totally destroys any confidence that he knows what he's talking about. If he were just the reader I might still believe he was merely illiterate, but he is the co-author so I cannot have any faith in the book itself. The only reason I gave it the second star is that the substance of the book is actually quite interesting, if only I could believe it was true.

I understand he is a political commentator of some kind, although I've never heard him so I don't know what his politics are. He claims to have taught history but that's hard to believe. What I do know is that he is a moron and (apparently not much of a Christian, either, since he doesn't know what Calvary means).

FACT OR FICTION, YOU DECIDE.
I'M SURE SOME OF IT WAS TRUE
I WATCH BILL O'RIELLY A LOT, BUT THIS CD AUDIO WAS A STRETCH. TOO MUCH BLOOD AND GORE, WHICH COULD BE TRUE. CIVIL WAR WAS AN AWFUL INJUSTICE TO HUMANITY. THERE IS NO WAY THAT ANYONE RECORDED ALL THE DETAIL IN THIS WAY TOO LONG C D AUDIO. I DID NOT LISTEN TO MORE THAN 3 DISC'S.
HOW KILLING LINCOLN REMAINED ON BEST SELLER LIST SO LONG IS BEYOND ME.
I WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THIS AUDIO AND WAS VERY DISSAPOINTED.
