Item Details

In a case that spans 20 years, Harry Bosch links the bullet from a recent crime to a file from 1992, the killing of a young female photographer during the L.A. riots. Harry originally investigated the murder, but it was then handed off to the Riot Crimes Task Force and never solved. Now Bosch's ballistics match indicates that her death was not random violence, but something more personal, and connected to a deeper intrigue. Like an investigator combing through the wreckage after a plane crash, Bosch searches for the 'black box,' the one piece of evidence that will pull the case together.

Have read many of his Harry Bosch books. Definitely think the character is getting "old" - to be expected after so many years.Contrast Harry to the Mickey Haller series. There is a clear "freshness" to Mickey Haller. You read the books differently as well. With Harry B, it's "Come on. Hurry up." With Mickey Haller, it's "Looking forward to what's coming next."

Harry has developed an arrogance that has become rather offputting. His treatment of his partner, David Chu, as his personal gopher; his sanctimonious disdain for his lieutenant and chief, and how others drop everything to help him out...

Definitely recommend older Harry B books. Not this one

Well written suspenseful murder-mystery. I would say that this is one of Michael Connelly's best. Definately worth a read.

I have been following this series for years. He is the same ol' Bosch but I am not sure that Michael Connelly is really in to him any more.

Not his best book, but if you're a fan of Harry Bosch you won't be disappointed.

My favourite kind of Michael Connelly book, a Harry Bosch LAPD procedural. This wasn't the best of the run but it didn't disappoint.
