Fifty Shades of Grey

Item Details

SOON TO BE A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana's quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too--but on his own terms. Shocked yet thrilled by Grey's singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success--his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family--Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey's secrets and explores her own dark desires. Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever. This book is intended for mature audiences. From the Trade Paperback edition.

A book about S&M ... only she's such a wimp - a butterfly could dominate her and he was just a full blown spoiled baby - boring; like all computer generated soft porn paperbacks

this is the type of "hot stuff" I read as a teenager. for a mature woman with experience, this was boring, even with the Pacific Northwest setting.

Everyone I talked to made this book to be like porn-yes it is graphic but I have found it no more pornographic than a regular romance novel. For example, one by the J.D. Robb. Yes its darker but it's still a love story. A sweet love story. I really connected with Ana and enjoyed her journey through out the book. I can't wait to start the next one, in fact Im going to down load it shortly after finishing this review. It is very much a beauty and the beast syndrome but very sweet and heart felt. I hope others enjoy it as much as I did

I have to say that reading this book was amazing. At First I was bored because it was not jumping into the sex right away but as I read through it I was highly impressed. I'm almost to the end and I had to just place the second one on hold.

If you are expecting true bondage and discipline, this is not that book. The first half of the book was so poorly written I started quoting it out loud while I was reading. The female main character "Ana" either licked her lips, flipped her hair, or thought about how hot "Grey" was at least once per page. Sometimes all three on one page! The fan-fiction beginning to this widely read romance trilogy is obvious. However formulaic the plot, I read all three books in the series, the plot did keep me engaged, even as I was giggling over the countless cliches. I kept expecting it to go over the edge into the truly kinky - that never happened. I might recommend it to a fan of somewhat steamy romance.

this book was amazing can't wait to read the others .

These three books are quite boring, but I am reading them anyway since they are now part of popular culture and I want to know what people are talking about.

I agree with @DBDean, this book is like the porno version of Twilight. Poorly written and with repetitive dialogues.

THIS BOOK HELPED VERY MUCH IN MY INCREASE OF VOCABULARY WORDS. I CAN'T WAIT TO READ "FIFTY SHADES DARKER". BESIDES THE FACT THAT I HAD A CHANCE TO INCREASE IN VOCABULARY, THIS BOOK WAS REALLY INTERESTING, THAT I CAN'T WAIT TILL THE NEXT BOOK. (:

Anastasia and Christian engage in bondage exploration as they feel they fumble their way toward a real relationship.

TAKE THE SPECIFIC AGE FACTOR OUT AND IT COULD BE,FROM THE ROMANTIC ASPECT ALONE,EVERY WOMAN'S FANTASY GUY. RICH, EXTREMELY HANDSOME,INTELLIGENT AND VERY ASTUTE IN HIS CAREER. DANGEROUS ENOUGH TO BE EDGY BUT HAVING A SENSITIVE(ALBEIT HIDDEN)AND ROMANTIC SIDE. I'D DATE HIM! LOL

“Sometimes I wonder if there's something wrong with me. Perhaps I've spent too long in the company of my literary romantic heroes, and consequently my ideals and expectations are far too high.” ~ Fifty Shades Of Grey ~

“Why don't you like to be touched" Ana whispered, staring up into soft grey eyes. "Because I'm fifty shades of f*****-up, Anastasia”
