This totally unnecessary and unexpected 2nd remake of what is suppose to be the GOLD standard of mystery/suspense entertainment programs IS STILL POLARIZING and DISENGAGING despite all of the CGI slow motion OVERKILL violence in this 2 hours and 9 minutes waste of my time i can never get back ever again period.HOLLYWOOD PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A 3RD INSTALLMENT OF THIS EXTREMELY NARCISSISTIC AND ARROGANT REMAKE AKA DECONSTRUCTION OF THIS DETECTIVE SERIES PERIOD,BUT YOU DON'T HEAR ME THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One can add Jared Harris to the list of actors who have given a terrific and delightful performance as the evil and cunning criminal mastermind, Professor James Moriarty. That being said, this second Robert Downey Jr. Jude Law Holmes movie I found to be even better than the first, based on the merits of you have a prime villain against the relentless heroes. The action is fast paced and breathtaking, not stopping for even one moment. Perfect for a night's viewing.

A solid movie, interesting characters, a storyline that progresses. Sometimes the good guy wins, sometimes not so much.

If you haven't check out the first movie entitled 'Sherlock Holmes' from 2010.

Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows is the second installment with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson respectively. As others have commented this movie is better than their first Sherlock Holmes movie. Holmes is pitted against his enemy Professor James Moriarty as Holmes tries to figure out Moriarty's evil plan. There is plenty of fighting but it is less gory than the first movie. The scenes that show how Holmes sees future events are unique. The movie's slow motion scenes add an interesting film technique as well. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson have a final confrontation with Professor Moriarty in Switzerland. The movie's final scene asks the question: "The End?".

Benedict and Martin will always be Holmes and Watson to me. Good film though.

Perhaps better than the first film, Downey is perfect and this time around Jude Law decided to hold his own, and did. In my heart nothing can replace Basil and Nigel, but I have to admit this team is as good.

Very good movie, entertaining and clever at the same time. Beautiful settings in the XIX Europe, very well recreated.

Best movie my wife and I have seen in a long time. I'd even give it the edge over The Avengers. If you liked the first movie, you'll love the second one! Brilliantly written and brilliantly acted. The ending scene is pure genius. We skipped back to watch it again.
