Add a CommentI defy anyone who reads this to not at least tear up at the end of this book. Such an emotional ride. It was sweet, it was sad, it was romantic, it was just so good. One of those books that no one seems to know about and everyone should! It is fiction, but based on truth and so important for people to know about!
A very well written story that enlightens me to the Armenian genocide. The author kept me interested throughout and I want to learn more about this very sad time in Armenian history.
2012. Excellent.
The atrocities of 1915 to the Armenians is brought to life in this novel by Chris Bohjalian. Although difficult to read at times and somewhat depressing in its theme, this is a good read. It reveals a piece of history of which little is known and/or discussed.
It is surprising how many people (including myself) are not aware of the Armenian Genocide that happened not quite 100 years ago. This is a sad but powerful story and well worth reading.
Important story of a forgotten atrocity. Slow start, but very powerful.
A great novel about the horrors of war told from multiple viewpoints.
