Stanley Yelnats is cursed, and it's all his grandfather's fault. Getting sent to a juvenile detention center after being falsely accused of stealing a pair of shoes seems like just another example of Stanley's epically rotten luck. At Camp Green Lake, the boys are made to dig holes, every day, to "build character." But what if all that digging has another, secret purpose, like searching for buried treasure?

i really liked this book! i liked how the story from the past (with Katherine Barlow) caused the story taking place in the present (with Stanley), and remnants of the Katherine Barlow story were still in the story about Stanley.
