Billingham did a lot with just one kidnapper and one hostage. Nicely written.

This is the same book as The Demands

Good as Dead republished under different title

The Demands is the best of the very good Tom Thorne novels. Give it a read. You won't be sorry.

Another winner from Mark Billingham in the Tom Thorn series. I was especially interested in DS Weeks reaction to being held hostage as a police officer and also as a new mother. I hope we will be seeing more of her in future books.
