"Twelve O'clock High" is no ordinary movie. It was produced in 1949 during the Golden Age of Films by none other than Daryl F. Zanuck. The Director is Henry King who from 1930 to 1960 has 119 film credits. He was best known for taking great literature books and putting them on the big screen. For me though, the man that made "Twelve O'clock High" the masterpiece is the cinematographer Leon Shamroy. He took actual flight film of bombings over Germany by our troops and added it to the films recreated scenes. You feel like your in the action with the planes and their pilots. The cast is first rate with Gregory Peck the commander of the bomber unit. By todays standards, these planes look like they could be easily shot out of the air. That is why the story is so compelling. The risk to the pilots and their bond to each other is an amazing story. Relatives of yours may have been involved in World War II in the same type of missions described in "Twelve O'clock High". The film is a fitting tribute to them and I am glad to say it is a Five Star Film Tribute! As always, I would appreciate your reaction to the film.

Overbearing U.S. flight commander Gregory Peck seeks to raise the morale of his men by shaming them as incompetent cowards.
