Tyrone Powers is excellent in this grifter story with a twist ending. Joan Blondell and Helen Walker are similary, excellent in their supporting roles as a veteran Pschic and a devious Psychologist. The use of psychology in this story and practiced by a woman, no less, had to be far ahead of its time.

One of the most bizarre films of the film noir boom of the 40s and 50s. Read the book by Edmund Goulding.

Noir's legendary freak show. Fans of the understated and uplifting should turn away now. Tyrone Power's first sleazy role, and he loves it.
